A form of jazz played on the piano, using a
repeated motif for the left hand. It was
common in the USA from around 1900 to the
1950s. Boogie-woogie players included Pinetop
Smith (1904-1929), Meade `Lux' Lewis
(1905-1964), and Jimmy Yancey (1898-1951).
